In this post i will be describing how Todorov's and Steve Neals theory inspired us with producing the short film. Todorov's narrative theory, binary opposition, and Neal's theory of genre (parody, repetition, and difference).   We included a range of shot types such as POV, Mid shots,3/4 shots and over the shoulder shots for the scene between Amelia and Lewis. of the murderer and their persona, acting, binary opposition and pros such as: props: phones, knives. costume used include: mask, casual attire. We used natural day to day clothing as it followed the conventions of horror and kept a realistic feel. We knew overexaggerated clothing and props wouldn't be needed except for the killer who had a knife and a mask. Our film's mise en scene and cinematography choices have given it meaning.  For our filming we used a location in the woods, which is frequently associated with feeling helpless and alone, to generate a sense of isolation. Because it obscures the distance

Our short film (Friday The 14th) was heavily influenced by the short film Finley and No Through Road we took the influence of the plot from Finley and the location and lost film footage feel from No Through Road. In the process of making this short film there were some conventions within short film making that were important to give us a guide for things such as timings, location and plot and characters. In our 4-minute slasher film called "Friday The 14th" we followed the codes and conventions of short films in a thrilling way. Firstly, we focused on using comedy throughout the film whilst still keeping the genre of horror. We established the setting for the film immediately, introduced the characters, and built tension quickly to make the most of the limited runtime. Visually, we used specific camera angles and creative shots to enhance the suspense and horror elements. We made sure to include atmospheric lighting and eerie sound design to create a chilling atmosphere. The

P1:Types of lighting

In this blog post I will be explaining the lighting we will be able to use for our short film. Three Point Lighting. A traditional method for achieving a balanced and aesthetically pleasing look in cinema and photography is three points of illumination (three point lighting). The key light, fill light, and backlight are the three main light sources that are used.  The shadows that the main light casts are softened by the fill light. It is positioned on the side opposite the primary light and works to equal out the lighting by lowering the contrast on the subject.  The main topic or subjects are lit from behind by the backlight, which creates depth by separating the main subject from the background. It makes the edges of the subject stand out in a spotlight, giving them depth and dimension.  You can manage the atmosphere, highlight certain elements, and produce an appealing environment by utilizing three-point lighting. Chiaroscuro Using the chiaroscuro lighting technique, dramatic and
